LARGE gem material. Believe it or not, the pix do NOT do this justice - it is flash fire from all directions, all through the piece. Don't mind keeping it to be honest :) No special cutting problems, sand to final contours and polish - just know what you are doing as this NOT rough to be wasted, GEORGEOUS. The predominate color is a lot of brilliant red, despite the pix which do not show the red much at all (most of what appears blank areas in the pix is RED). |

There is some fantastic fire here, BUT it is highly directional, depending on viewing angle and light source angle. You will also see a bit of matrix coming up into the surface. The fire is also just near the surface - room to only sand & polish, must be a low-dome cab. All of which is clear in the price :) The white base and thin black are the natural host to this type opal, it is NOT a doublet. |

Very nice fire throughout - better than pix. There should be no large fireless areas in the cab with proper orientation and cutting. Anyone can cut a decent gem from this, but the experienced cutter with cover the surface with brilliant fire. |
